Hope this isn’t a stupid question?!

Every time we have sex and my husband pulls out, I feel like all the cum just comes straight out!! He even tries to stay in the position for a while afterwards to prevent it from happening but it still all runs out every time. Is this why I’m not getting pregnant? How can I stop this happening? Any tips xx

The way I explain it is the seminal fluid is the car that takes the passengers (sperm) from his body to your body. The passengers (sperm) arrive and their destination and the car (seminal fluid) is what exits your body. This is meant to happen. Totally normal and okay.

Healthy mobile sperm begin their journey to your reproductive tract as soon as ejaculation occurs. Seminal fluid is what carries and nourishes the sperm, and is what’s being expelled afterwards, that along with any dead or immobile sperm, and your own vaginal secretions. This is normal and doesn’t impact your chances of falling pregnant, so there’s no reason to stop it from happening.

The good sperm has already started swimming. What falls out is semen. It can take a healthy couple at least 6 months to convince. I would see a fertility specialist if it hasn’t happened within that time.
