Who has sleep trained their baby?

I’m really contemplating sleep training. I suffered through 8 months of terrible sleep with my son before sleep training (Ferber method) and it went great. 
This time I hoped that implementing better sleep habits from the start with my daughter would mean I wouldn’t have to sleep train. But despite everything I’ve done, and even though she can put herself to sleep at bedtime, she still wakes up every 1-3 hours at night and takes terrible short naps. 
My daughter will be 5 months next week. I’ve heard some people say to wait until 5 or 6 months, but others say earlier is fine too. Has anyone had experience sleep training with a Cry it out or Ferber method?

My baby just learned to sleep on his own without me intervening. Both for naps and night time. He however wakes up to feed during the night and will go back to sleep without an issue. I’m not sure how I can stop this though.

I do intermittent checks at 5, 7, 10 and 15 minutes. Check out taking cara babies on Instagram. Starting at 5 months is when she says is ok and developmentally appropriate

Sorry for piggybacking on this thread 😅 I’m in the same situation but this is my first child. I put him down drowsy but awake (although it could be here that I’m going wrong because he might not be awake enough) and he falls asleep right away… but then he’s up all through the night. He was doing great until about 3 weeks ago (he’s now 5 and a half months) a he would sleep 7-9 hours at a go. Now both night sleep and day sleep are off. The problem I have with sleep training is that if I put him down more awake that usual he cries immediately and try the whole checking him at intervals thing doesn’t seem to work at all. He just keeps crying even if I try to shush him. He just keeps going til I pick him up. Is this normal?

We used the Ferber method when our son went through his 4 month sleep regression. It was a tough week but, omg it actually worked!! 
Now he's going through a second regression (all he wants to do is roll around whenever you lay him down) and we started the Ferber method again. It's working so well again, he's self soothing and learning to roll into his side/stomach to get more comfortable when he sleeps. He is 5 months and usually puts himself back to sleep within 10-20 minutes.

We started Ferber for naps and she now falls right to sleep on her own at every nap time. She will also go to bed like that for night time too however I haven’t been strict on it during the night because I’m so tired and she shares a room with my 2.5yo. One of these nights I’m going to have my older girl sleep in my sons room and I need to just stay up and implement the check ins and let her put herself back to sleep. 😩 She ends up in my bed in the middle of the night because I don’t stick with it!
