Anyone familiar with Sema4 expanded carrier testing?

Husband and I are working with fertility specialist — they recommended doing Sema4 expanded carrier testing. We have our counseling appointment tomorrow to go over results. I just got my insurance EOB in the mail today and it shows that we will owe THOUSANDS for this testing!!! I am freaking out because we were told we’d get a call to talk about cost if we’d owe anything over $99, and we were told the most anyone has to pay out of pocket is usually about $300. We didn’t get a call. I actually called them specifically to confirm — the person I spoke with said our insurance would cover it. Now this!!! What is happening?! 😫 We never would have done this if we knew we’d get charged almost $10,000!!!
