Over feeding?? (formula fed baby)

Hi everyone! New mom here 🙋🏻‍♀️

My son is currently 7 weeks & i’ve noticed he eats a lot ! Yes I know babies eat every 2-3 hours & sometimes even more but my pediatrician told me he recommends feeding him only 4oz. The thing is if i do only give him 4oz he cries for more & isn’t fully satisfied till he at least has one more ounce (key word at least.) Of course i give in and feed him as much as he wants because i don’t wanna starve him & he be unhappy ☹️ he’s my baby! I would do anything for him but i’m not sure if i’m harming him by feeding him so much?? he doesn’t have reflux and he’s not a colic baby he’s actually really happy i’m just worried if i over feed he’s gonna gain too much weight?? I was thinking maybe he’s not getting enough nutrients possibly in the formula i use? I usually use enfamil gentle ease & i thought he was doing really well with it but now i’m second guessing everything. Maybe i’m totally over thinking this whole situation, he has his two month check up in a week so i’ll be bringing this all up then but i wanted to get some mamas perspective before hand!
