Do people in your neighborhood have pesticide/herbicide/insecticide companies regularly come to treat their lawns?

If so, do you have your kids come inside when they’re spraying? What precautions do you take?

The signs they place after treating the lawn says not to have pets or kids on it until it’s dry. I pretty much just wait a few hours. I live in FL so I figure it doesn’t take long with the heat. And that’s just for the pets. My son is 1 and doesn’t play on the lawn.

This is why I bought a house with land.  I don't want that stuff around my house, kids, garden, dogs or chickens.  I like having bees and animals living around my house.  The flock of wild turkeys agrees.

We go inside and shut the windows.  If it’s windy out, then we play elsewhere for a couple days before playing in our yard again.  My neighbor’s pesticide service doesn’t follow the laws and place signs though so if I don’t see them there, I have no idea they’ve been there.  My biggest issue is that we have tortoises outside so I’ve asked them multiple times to let me know when they’re coming but they never do 🙄

Our besties own a mosquito control business and they treat our property. I know for that product they have us close all the windows / turn off the A/C’s during application and it takes about 45 minutes to dry but they tell you 60 minutes just to be safe. I can’t speak to other chemicals but neither of our direct neighbors get stuff like that done so I don’t have to worry too much beyond what we have done for mosquitos.
