do people still use cardio for weight loss ?

all i see on instagram or tik tok now a days is women lifting weights to lose weight and i was wondering is it enough to do just cardio for my weight loss journey ? some days i do leg press and ab machine then i do treadmill/bike/elliptical as well. is splitting both up good enough ? this stigma sorta makes me feel like i’m not doing enough and i should get in front of the gym (social anxiety) where the weights are and start lifting lol help :/
