Baby clothing size?

I feel so dumb for even asking this but what exactly does size 3 MONTHS mean? Is it like 0-3 months or 3-6 months? Or something that just says 6 MONTHS is that good for up to 6 months of age or does that last 6-9 month or what here are some examples I picked up.

American sizing doesn't make sense. Here it goes in centimetres, so size 56 is up to 56cm tall, 116cm is up to 116vm tall. So my 3,5year old that is 109cm tall uses size 110 and some 116.

Also, you’re going to find that some brands are for short, stalky kids and some brands are better for tall, thin kids. Don’t buy all your clothes now. I wouldn’t go past 6-9 months honestly. Bc you need to see what fits and suits your baby. At least that’s how I like to do it. I’ve always had long slender babes so the wider, shorts clothes never fit right. So even if they were cute, the babies didn’t wear them. Waste of money $$$

You’re really going to see differences between brands because sizes aren’t really regulated (for example Walmart toddler clothing is significantly wider/larger as opposed to targets toddler clothing) , but for the most part 3 means 0-3 and so on.

Every kid is different..but mostly it means however old your kid is thats the average size they will be in. My daughter always fit in her exact year.. so if she was 6months old she would fit in 6 months or even some 6-9 month.. ect plus every brand is so different you kinda have to just play around with it
