How many onesies for a newborn ?

I just went through my baby stuff and realized i have like 2 onesie lol! Ill prabably go shopping later or tomorrow on the weekend. So how many do you all have. This is my 4th child but i can’t remember what all i needed/ had w my other kids. Also should i just get long sleeves or short or both? It snows here but also if we’re indoors i dont want him to be too hot.

Gonna depend on the baby. My baby ran hot so didn’t need more than one layer during the day (long sleeve onesie) and three at night (short sleeve onesie plus sleeper and swaddle). He occasionally went through a couple at night due to blowouts, but for the most part he was a clean baby. He didn’t spit up much. However, some babies are super messy and require multiple outfits a day. I’d get a mix of things and see what you end up using. Thrifting onesies is a great deal. I shop Once Upon a Child and they are like a dollar each.

3 full outfits maybe for newborn and stick with sleepers...I have two kids and never really took them anywhere as a new born....and with winter sleepers are warmer than doing layers...

Personally, I probably have 30+ onesies. This is my 3rd so part of the reason I have so many is I kept the clothes from my youngest, but in my experience the onesie is the most common piece of clothing and sometimes you could go through 1-5 of them a day. My son had terrible reflux and while I didn’t always change his whole outfit, If there was a large amount of wet spit up on the onesie… I would keep the pants and swap out the onesie so he didn’t have to be wet/uncomfortable. I also have mostly short sleeved ones in newborn-3 months since babies spend lots of time in blankets at that age if they need to be warmer.

Same here 4th child. My last child was born in 2014. So sometimes I feel overwhelmed trying figure out stuff.

Honestly we have a ton but they were all given to us so we bought no newborn outfits. Im not gonna take my baby anywhere but i will change him a lot just to get pictures in the cute outfits lol. Personally id recommend enough outfits for a week. And you also gotta think if your baby is too big, has colic when born (my son did and he was almost 10lb) or some kind of unknown allergy (oldest has lactose allergy since BIRTH) they might just vomit everywhere all the time and need hella outfit changes.  So. Honestly theres not really a right answer other than go with your gut.

This is my 4th too! I have 8 newborn onesies and a few short sleeved/singlet rompers (December is summer for us) and about a million 0-3mth onesies and outfits. I have big babies so we dont really use newborn size clothing.

I’m in the same boat as you, 4th kid. There is a big age gap as this is my second marriage. My youngest will be 12 in a couple of weeks and I can’t remember what a good number of onesies or footsie one pieces to have. So far I have about 10 of each.
