You need laparoscopic to fully diagnose, they need to visibly see the Endometriosis.

I’ve not had laparoscopy but I had an REI confidently say I have it to due to the severity and size of the endometriomas (chocolate cysts) and for the fact that I have adhesions. My ovaries are essentially glued together and out of place. I’m going through IVF and was told that surgery may do more harm than good especially since I have some freaky large endometriomas in my ovaries. Laparoscopy is the end all be all of confirmations but I guess when it’s this severe, there are other indicators? I wouldn’t recommend waiting like I did. I just never thought that anything was up until I spent 4 years trying to have a baby naturally and nothing happened. Granted I do have severe cramps but always thought it was “normal” and that all women or a good chunk of women went though what I did…

I answered other because I was diagnosed after a uterine biopsy. The biopsy tested for my BCL6 levels. When elevated it is a sign of endometriosis.

I was diagnosed when I had my emergency csection with my first. Otherwise it was only suspected. No test or scan will be able to fully diagnose Endo.
