Why positive ovulation test when period is due?

Does anyone know why I would have a clear positive on an ovulation test when I was due for my period on the 1st of Nov and it still hasn't shown up?

Either you didn’t ovulate when you thought your did and you will soon or your period is coming.

This isn't positive close but not quite yet also it's very very common for women to get LH surges right before there. That's why you're supposed to stop testing after ovulation
