Ovulation questions

I'm due on my period on the 16th of this month but had a positive ovulation test today, with egg white cm and cramping does this mean I could be ovulating this late? Or is it a false surge connected to my period coming? Or is the only way I will know is if AF turns up on the 16th? Sorry lots of questions any advice welcome
