Considering fertility treatment

Jessica

Hi friends! Over the last year i have found out that I have PCOS. Took 2 years to finally get answers. But none the less, we will not dwell on it. I’m struggling to lose weight. I think it has something to do with my anxiety and stress. So, what I’ve come to realize is that me being home 24/7 cause I’m a single mom, really have me looking for food even when I’m not hungry. I’m trying to find a job ASAP but I do not want to work fast food again. That’s what caused my weight gain in the first place. After being diagnosed with PCOS, they prescribed me Metformin to help “regulate” my cycles. Yes, it does work but then I started having my period last 10 days, so they gave me BC but it made me sick to my stomach so I stopped taking it and got my period, like an actual freaking period what was 35 day cycle. That never happens to me. I was so happy to have a normal period. But you’re probably wondering what this has to do with considering fertility treatment? Well, my fiancé has performance issues. He can’t stay hard. If he does he gets dizzy. And to top it off he can’t cum, no matter how hard he tries. But he can cum perfectly fine when he jerks off. Idk. But I asked him that if we want a baby we would need to consider IUI or IVF since he can’t cum during sex. The Dr thinks it’s due to his unhealthy weight. And she’s probably right. So we talked it over and if we are serious about starting a family we can try to talk to a fertility specialist and see our options. IVF is covered by most insurance in SC. But not IUI. But unfortunately it’s going to cost a pretty penny to get it done. My insurance will not cover the medicine to help me ovulate, the trigger shot and IUI itself. But they will cover the lab test, and any other Dr visit. So from my research the IUI (medicine and all) will probably cost 2000-6000 in cash. And IVF, my insurance won’t cover. I would literally have to change my insurance but they will only cover a lump some and the rest I would have to pay out of pocket but I don’t want to think about that 😣. I’m thinking about IUI because it’s the cheapest one out of all. But we don’t have the money to pay for it. I’m afraid to make a go fund me page cause I know most of my family will not help me. And I also know that if any one does donate to it, I won’t his the goal amount. I’m sorry that I am all over the place. My body won’t ovulate on time. My periods are very, very irregular and money is tight. Can someone give me advice on what I should do? Who to turn to? Thank you in advance and I wish many blessings your way.
