Cop Said He Believed My Husband
So my husband and I have been married for almost two years. We have a daughter that is 9 months old.
We’ve been having intense fights lately. We had one a few weeks ago where he shoved me (while I was holding our daughter) into a wall and placed his hands around my neck. No, he didn’t put pressure, but just the fact that he would even put his hand on me while holding our daughter I think is wrong.
Well.. maybe a week later we get into another fight. Like before I was holding our daughter. He had thrown my phone out into the woods because I threatened to call the cops, so me being my petty self grabbed his phone and threw it out the window. Once, I did that he came up behind me and grabbed me by the back of the neck and snatched our daughter out of my arms.
At this point I was furious and scared for my daughter. I went to a neighbor and called the cops and they came almost immediately. He handed our daughter over to the neighbor while we talked with the police. Then, they waiting for him to pack up his things and leave our apartment.
Before they left, they all told me that usually in situations like this it doesn’t get better and that I should choose to do whatever is best for my daughter.
Now, a week later…I heard from a friend that works out with some of the local cops that they talked with him about my case and they said they “believed” my husband.
I’m a little confused, since I didn’t realize we had such contradicting stories that it would require the cops to choose a side 🤔 Is it because there wasn’t any marks on me from it? Am I just being dramatic and the cops think I was over exaggerating or that it wasn’t as big of a deal that I thought it was?
