Do you think delivery drivers should get paid the same hourly rate like amazon instead of just tips?

Question

Places like amazon, ups, Walmart etc are all able to get paid a hourly rate plus benefits. Dominos, jimmy johns, other places are basically running off tips alone. 
Same thing with waitresses. Let’s face it I work at a jimmy johns right now and tips suck! 2-3 dollars in tips while they are making 10+ dollars off each sub. We average about 300-400 subs for one shift. We all make 12 dollars an hour except delivery drivers they make 5. Then on top of that most of our drivers are cyclists. Working twice as hard to bring you food for tips that literally average 2.30 cents. What does everyone think? Feel free to comment.

I think anyone with a job should be getting a liveable wage, and tips should be bonuses. 
no one should be surviving off of tips. no one should be trying to get by on less than minimum wage. 
amazon is owned by the second richest man in the world. it is grossly negligent and unethical that any employees of amazon are being paid less than liveable wage.

I don’t like our current tipping system. I’d rather a living wage + tips for exceptional service. 
To go a little further, the way we pay for shit and compensate our workers in the US overall is awful. I can’t even remember the last time I ordered restaurant delivery because all the fees are stupidly expensive. I’d suck it up if was going to the workers directly, but knowing that they’re making peanuts on unethical markups isn’t it.

Normally on these circumstances if you make less on tips then you still make a normal minimum wage check. 
That's actually the reason my sister preferred working for places that do checks based off tips. 
She would get good tips, but the location told her to only claim so much so they all still got full paychecks as well. So she made pretty good money.

Bumping service workers up to $12 an hour and taking away their tips won't get them to a living wage. 
Most service workers I know prefer to remain tip based because they can make more on tips than they would hourly. The biggest drawback with tips is your income isn't always consistent and you have to work certain shifts in order to make a decent income

In general, I think everyone should just be paid a living wage. 
I also have a tough time with this sometimes because when I was waitressing, I expected to make $300/shift. There’s no way I would have done that job for 15 bucks an hour. My husband drives delivery and won’t take an order that ends up with him making less than $30/hr. I realize these are exceptions, not the rule, and not typical. But at a bare minimum, a living wage is a reasonable expectation.
