We named our son Rory. It is a very traditional boys name in the UK and particularly in Ireland. My husband is Irish and we loved that it was a little ode to his heritage. Now we are expecting a baby girl. My husband said he loves the name Lorelei. I also love that name, but my mind instantly went to the show Gilmore girls that apparently everyone is obsessed with. I don’t particularly care for the show, and I doubt my husband knows the affiliation. I’m just worried if we are going to constantly get “you guys must be big Gilmore girls fans!” if we name our children after the two main characters. 🙄 I’m also leaning towards I just shouldn’t care what other people think, since this is our child and not theirs. We should just go with what we love and people can kind their own business…
