Whats worth more?

Question

What is more worth it, to be with your kids dad just for them to grow happy and have a " family" or for you to be with the person you feel more comfortable with? Would you sacrifice your happiness for your kids because you dont want them to grow up without a dad like you did?

I absolutely would not allow my kids to see me remain in an unhappy relationship.

That is never good for the kids involved.

Nope. If I'm not happy with their dad, I'm not sacrificing my happiness when they could see him whenever they want and I could be with someone I want.

Staying in an unhappy relationship for your kids just teaches them about unhealthy relationships, it doesn't do anything else for them. Better to have 2 happy but seperate parents

It is better for a child to grow up with mom and dad happily seperated than to grow up with mom and dad miserable together.

It will hurt your child to see you being hurt.

I grew up with my parents divorced and when I was young, I did wish my parents were back together but now that I am older and wiser, I am glad that they are happy where they are. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm somewhat happy and somewhat unhappy with my so. But I am going to try working things out for my child. As unhappy as I am with him, I can't see myself with someone other than him. & If we don't work out, we've agreed to continue to work something out just for the child. But still remain in one household.

It's not sacrificing your happiness for theirs or theirs for yours. If you are unhappy in the relationship, it will show. You won't be a loving family if you don't love eachother. By staying with someone you don't want to be with, you are sacrificing everyone's happiness. A happy home starts with happy parents. Children learn from their parents and showing them that they should start in unhappy relationships could lead to trouble later one in their relationships.

Wouldn't you want to set an example for your children to know what a relationship should look like? Would you want them to think they should stay in an unhappy or unhealthy relationship?

Happy parents make happy kids. It's not useful to stay in an unhappy relationship for the sake of the kids... They won't benefit from it.
