Am i wrong
My husband is a veteran. I met him 9 years ago. My husband is american, i am not. When we met he showed me the ways of the American culture. I had been in the US for 5 yrs before but i was young and in high school. Anyway, fast forward to yesterday, veteran day, he went to get some shrimp, he does sometimes. As he is eating he says its a treat for himself for veterans day. I felt horrible. Today i ask him has he always celebrated and he said he did with his ex wife. Then he says he didnt think i cared for veterans day, and that he was waiting for me to see how other couples treat their veteran spouse on Instagram, he says he was hoping one day i will see it.. it pissed me off because my husband says how much he doesnt like this country and he isnt proud of the military. I am
Not from here. My husband is the only veteran i know aside from my friend’s husband. I dont know the culture around that celebration, i know what it is but i really just went with my husbands attitude. He never mentions it, its like he didnt care to celebrate it so i never tried to. Im just really irritated because i love him and care about everything else why would he think I specifically just dont care for this ? When he never really talks about it. He is out the military a few years, he doesnt speak much of it either.
