Circumcising?

Hey momma’s, I’m a first time mommy and I’m having a baby boy. I’m 25 weeks so I still have time to make a decision but I’ve really been wondering whether I should circumcise my son or not when he is born. What are some of you ladies opinion on circumcising?

I didn't with my son and he's never had any issues. If he wants to get it done he can make the choice to do it himself. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I never had my girls ears pierced without them asking to have it done.  Not my body and not medically necessary. I think any alteration to your body should be your choice. 😊

My husband is, our son is not. Any future sons will not be. We teach our daughters to clean themselves properly without issue, and they are much more vulnerable to infections by nature. We will do the same with our sons. 
Also, if I were a man I wouldn’t want to be circumcised...I would at least want a chance to experience all of those nerve endings that would get snipped off. 🤷‍♀️

My husband is uncircumcised and he said he wanted our boy to be circumcised because he wished his parents would have done it for him. It healed up just fine and never seemed to bother him. I’m sure one day he’ll ask why his looks different than his dad’s but I’m not worried about it.

Nope. There’s no need for it. The “it’s cleaner” statement is a myth

I thought about it with my first  born as my partner is circumcised but didn't end up doing it as the mostly  only do it religiously as they say it's not necessary

Please don’t do it. Please research it further. It’s genital mutilation and 100% not necessary. Causes trauma to the child. Yourwholebaby.org is a helpful resource. 🙏🏼☺️

There are pros and cons to either, it’s really up to you and dad. If you decide to get it done, the earlier the better 🙃

I'm not circumcising my boy. We're not religious and except for extremely rare medical purposes, there is no need for it. My husband and I have weighed pros and cons, the biggest pro being more sensitivity when he chooses to become sexually active, and the biggest con being a slight increased risk for penile cancer, and decided to leave him in tact. My husband is circumcised, so we think our only obstacle will be learning how to clean baby boy properly when he's old enough.

Honestly I’m unsure what I’m going to choose for my boy. My husband is and I feel like in the US it’s more common than not to be circumcised.  I’m nervous about the teasing and bullying as he gets older but I’m also on the side of “it’s his body, let him make his decision when he’s older.” Hopefully my husband can help with the decision.
