Debating VBAC or planned C-section
This is my second pregnancy and with my first 18 months ago I had an emergency c-section because he was stuck in the birth canal, dilated at 9cm for 7 hours. I was hoping to have a vaginal birth this time around but when I asked for the dr’s opinion she said that she thinks my pelvis is too small to deliver a baby. Her reason being that my son was only 7lbs 2 oz & was stuck for so long. She said if he was a big baby, it would make more sense.. but he wasn’t so it must be my pelvis that is too small. It was discouraging to hear. She also mentioned how I was in labor for 18 hours and had to be put to sleep for the c-section. She said that it’s up to me (obviously) if I want to decide to try a vbac for it to end up in a c-section or just schedule one right from the start.
Now I feel stuck, i’m not sure what to decide or what the best decision would be for my baby and I. I don’t want to try for it to fail, but I also don’t want to give in and schedule a c-section when I could potentially have a vaginal birth that goes smoothly.
Has anyone here had a successful vbac after being told they have a small pelvis? I am very small but does that really mean I can’t birth a baby? 🥺
