Advice needed. What day would 1DPO be?

Question

If I got a positive OPK today does that mean I will ovulate tomorrow and then count the day after as 1DPO? I’ve not been doing OPKs for a few years so a bit out of practice.  Do I keep doing OPK to see the line lighten again?

You had it right, day of positive opk is “peak day” the following would be considered “ovulation day” and then the next is “1 DPO” Opks do not determine ovulation, they just detect the surge in LH, so you would need to be temping to actually confirm ovulation. A LH surge doesn’t guarantee ovulation. But usually once you get a surge, ovulation “should” occur 12-48 hours later. So ovulation day and DPO could be off depending on when ovulation truly occurs. You don’t have to see the opk go back to negative. But I recommend testing 3 days after first positive while you confirm with temp.
