Contractions?

Does a contraction feel like a strong but bare-able period cramp along with a little abdominal tightness? Lasting about 30 secs sometimes longer? How long till Timing that cramping do I decide to go to hospital? I’m scheduled for induction for tomorrow night but I’ve been having these cramps on and off throughout the night not sure if it’s Braxton Hicks because I never experienced those throughout pregnancy.
