Anyone have an idea what this could on my son?

Idk if it looks more like hives or chicken pox 😬 any insight would be appreciated, planning on taking him to the doctors tomorrow

Did he have a fever recently? My son sometimes gets rashes like that after a fever goes away

Looks like hives imo. I’m not a parent I just get hives lol. Not sure what from (it can be from a virus/fever, medications, reaction to soap/detergent, ext)

Showed my partner he’s a Doctor he said looks like a common viral rash but without seeing him in person is hard as kids get so many rashes

Molluscum contagiosum is a viral skin disease that causes small pink or skin-colored bumps on your child's skin. It is not harmful and usually does not have any other symptoms. The virus is inside the bumps and is mildly contagious. These bumps usually clear over time. 
My son had/has them, they come and they go it looks identical to your photo the pediatrician’s day it goes away over time but my son’s were pretty bad so I got a second opinion from a dermatologist and allergy specialist and they were able to prescribe him some cream that worked miracles it’s called mometasone furoate ask his dr for it they can prescribe it for u
