What made your Breast feeding journey a success?

Give me all the tips or tricks that worked for you! I’m planning on breastfeeding my LO that’s due in 2 1/2 months. I was unsuccessful with my twins and I really want to be on top of it this time around. 😋

Anytime it’s awake, tiddy. It cry, tiddy. It breathing, tiddy. 24/7, tiddy. That’s how I did it, and it worked for over two years with my first! Hoping I’m able to go that long with my second now. 😊

Find a strong support system that works for you…. It’s as much a mental thing as anything else. I attended a weekly breastfeeding support group aimed at first timers. It was moms and ran by lactation consultant’s through the hospital. That helped a ton! My husband was also 100% on board and gave me love and support when needed but also the tough love when needed. Couldn’t have been successful with those things. 
Agree with the other poster, I feed on demand 100%. We didn’t try to put a schedule on the baby, we let the baby lead the way and then created the schedule.

I took a breastfeeding class at my hospital and made my husband join too. I think it was really good when both parents understand and had support.

Honestly I watched YouTube videos beforehand that were really helpful. It’s very difficult and time consuming at first. Most of the work is on mom. Most give up in those first couple months. It does get easier and breastfeeding is actually very convenient in comparison to botttles! the FB group, la leche league is helpful. Breastfeeding is a wonderful experience with so many health benefits for you and your baby! Hope it works out great for you 🥰

My husband. We were in the NICU for 3.5
Months. When I had to pump he had washed bottles and sterilised. He dated the milk. Took it away to NICU. He bought me several sets of pumping accessory so that I don’t have to wash them when he isn’t around. He always let me sleep some extra hours in the morning because I had to do those mid night and early morning pumping/feeding. Sometime he fed baby the pumped milk while I pumped more and give me company. And honestly, gave me a lot of credit for doing it inspite of the trauma of an extremely early birth and emergency c-section which kept me going. We didn’t have any family except my mom. My MIL didn’t breastfeed and ask to give my daughter bottle at every opportunity. I constantly felt guilty for not being able to keep in my belly for another 16 weeks. So I was also somewhat determined to do it no matter what. My husband was my rock.

Be prepared for cluster feeding. Find a show to get addicted to. With my son, I rewatched Sons of Anarchy and with my daughter it was Boardwalk Empire. I also suctioned a Haaka to me when she was eating and built a nice stash that way as well as brought in more milk.

My first wanted nothing with breastfeeding and my milk supply was hardly there even with pumping. 
My second is all about the booby milk. 
Pumping in between feedings, nipple shields, nipple cream, boob ease pumping lubricant, solitaire and any other game that keeps me awake for this middle of the night feedings and pump sessions.
