How is breast feeding going for you ?

Question

I have been breast feeding/ pumping for a month. In the beginning I did a little supplementing but now
I’m pretty much feeding on demand and pumping. Ive had my times I want to give up. I still struggle to keep a schedule to pump. How is it going for everyone?

It’s going well. I’m 3 weeks PP. The first week was awful though. Baby wanted nothing to do with my boobs in the hospital, but he seemed to get more interested once my milk came in. But the whole first week was super painful because my nipples were cracked and raw while we worked on proper latching.
It’s going well now though! No complaints. He takes an occasional bottle of breastmilk from his daddy just fine. We are thinking of doing 1 bottle per day now so I can get a longer window of uninterrupted sleep in the evenings. It’s been rough waking up every 1-2 hours round the clock to feed baby (he’s eating well & gaining weight just fine - he just loves eating and demands it constantly 😂).

I was bf & pumping. Now I exclusively just bf. He gets one bottle of formula at night though. My breast kept getting engorged. Nipple pain was crazy but ever since I stopped pumping it hasn’t gotten engorged as much as it’s used to. I believe I’m still producing alot of milk because it shoots out sometimes but pumping was sooo draining to me. Just bf has worked for me. Not sure when ill stop because I was forced to stop for 2 weeks in September & was so emotional. As soon as I started back he was so happy & anxious. Kept pulling me closer as if he was afraid that I would stop again. I initially planned to stop at 6 months but I don’t think the both of us wants to stop & he turns 6 months this weekend lol

I’m extremely fortunate. Breastfeeding was the only thing that went right for me. I had an extremely traumatic birthing experience due to having Covid and going into preterm labor. I was separated from my son for a week and we were both hospitalized. I was pumping barley 10-20ml of colostrum 1-3 times per day in the hospital, I didn’t have regular help from the nurses. My son was getting donor milk and some of my colostrum while he was in the NICU. 
Once we were finally discharged, I got him on the breast the next day, and he’s been exclusively breastfed ever since. No issues with supply, my milk came in almost immediately once we were together. My mom was amazing, it’s because of her that I was able to breastfeed. She helped with the latch and literally came in my room every night multiple times per night to help me get him latched properly. After a couple of days with her help, we were good to go!
My little munchkin went from 4lbs14oz the day we left the hospital to 10lbs10oz by his 2 month pediatrician appointment. His doctor is so impressed with his amazing development.

I just ended my journey w my 19mo. It's bittersweet since this may be our last baby but I was feeling very over touched. I ebf mostly but pumped for a short bit to give my 5yo some of my covid antibodies after I got vaccinated. I am a sahm so I didn't pump for the little one just breastfed on demand.
