What to do?

My boyfriend is an Albanian man. He's tall, dark, and extremely handsome. He's perfect! The problem is, is that his family doesn't accept me because I'm Brazilian. I don't know much about his culture. Any Albanians mind helping me out so I could better relate to his family?

His parents are racists. While you should remain superficially respectful to them as a sign of your own character, you do not need to go out of your way to "make" them like you

My mums Albanian, if you are talking to them maybe search up on Albanian history and surprise them about how much you know and maybe they might reconsider. Ps if you talk about Serbians Turkish ect (ppl Albania have had wars with) done say nice things , for gods sake don't, but other than that jst make sure you know the basics like their history, food, music, about their religion and yeah and maybe even talk about your background and link it with Albania, but don't go too far they might think of it as you telling them that your culture is better. Hi I am Albanian, born and raised there. I would say to not do anything because the more you try, the more they are going to think you are not as good as their son. If I were you I wold respect my self first and ask to the guy if he is very serious about your relationship. If he says yes then what his family thinks would not be that important. The old generations in Albania do not want their kids to merry other nationalities because there is the idea that those marriages won't last. This happens because they lived during communism and are afraid of what's new and what's different.

I work with many Albanians - try learning a few words in their language! "Tong" is "hi". Is there a religious divide? Many of the Albanians I know are Muslim
