If you fed your baby puréed food to start, what did you first give him/her?

Just curious to see what other people started with!

They always say to start with a vegetable because babies tend to prefer the taste of fruit (it’s sweet). We started with a veggie, but honestly my son preferred them more than any fruit kind of anyway.

Just FYI the whole "start with veggies or they won't eat them" thing is outdated and wrong. Start with whatever you want. We did apple first and then switched veggie, fruit,legumes veggie,fruit, legumes,  for a while and my son eats fairly well. Definitely not everything but he doesn't only eat sweet things.

We started with peaches because we already had some at home to blend up. That's pretty much how we've decided what to try next, whatever we had in the kitchen.

Fruit and my kids are veggies and fruit just fine. They wouldn’t touch meat purées.

I started with sweet potatoes then peas, carrots, squash, blueberries.

We started with avocado for both of my kids. We did purees with our first and baby led weaning with our second. Avocado was a good first food for both.
