Lately I’ve been thinking about stripping. Been watching lots of stripper blogs and learning a lot. What’s something you learned or wish you knew before starting?

I did it for a small amount of time. My best advice? You’re an actress when working. You have to pretend you love the attention and things these men will say to you. You have to turn a blind eye to the wedding rings and the 60 year olds who come in. Your job is to get their money, you do what you have to. In my experience a lot of my income at the end of the night went to pay the dj and security. Put some of your money in savings immediately, I averaged $300-$400/day. Pole tricks are neat but the private dances are where your money is at. Build a client base, you’ll get regulars and I actually enjoyed that part. It wasn’t easy for me, but you can make a lot of money. Good luck.

My late best friend stripped at a few clubs but it was the skill and exercise of pole dancing that brought her so much peace. That was her yoga. I think you’d enjoy taking pole dancing classes. You could make some connections there or potential friends. It takes some getting used to but it’s a great workout. That way you can show off your practiced skills at auditions. 
As far as clientele, I’ve only heard so many stories; another close and longtime friend of ours also stripped. You’re there to make money but you also need to be ready to put your foot down in certain situations.
