Who pays for the gender reveal?

Just curious because my best friend want to throw one but wants me to pay for it which I get but I know with showers it’s who’s throwing it so I’m confused😅

I just had mine and my bestfriend had it at her house but I paid for everything. Her giving me the space for it was more then enough for me! I believe a baby shower is when friends/family throw it for you. I still plan on putting my own money into the baby shower.

Why would she offer to throw you a party then ask you to pay for it that part is weird.
I feel like whoever plans it or initiates it would pay for it. I think most couples throw it themselves unless someone offers.

My mom and grandma planned our baby shower. The also payed for everything out of pocket. I told them plenty times I will help pay but they declined everytime. I feel like you should either pay for it or help her pay for it. Or even offer if she says no ok but if she says yes dish out some money.

I wouldn’t want my friend paying for a party for me like that! For my gender reveal I planned and paid for it all and my best friend was the one who actually knew the gender and helped get the surprise part set up.
