Possibly autistic, speech therapy

My son is 3. He’s incredibly smart. I would say he at least has the knowledge of a 5 year old. And he is very sweet/polite. But I have struggles with him making eye contact, and his attention span is a lot shorter than other kids his age. A lot.

He has problems pronouncing sounds and words. Most people can’t understand what he’s saying 80% of the time.

His speech therapist seemed to get frustrated with him today. I feel like she tried to do influence me to think he needed to take a break for several months. Then told me to not give up with him. Like, I wasn’t even pondering that thought, I feel like she was reflecting it off from herself to influence me to take a break. But it IS helping. She said she has to be stern with him. And kept asking me if I was sure I was ok with that?! I always go back with them because I like to know what I can do at home to help out and learn how she helps him talk and get his attention.

Advices is appreciated ❤️

*he was seeing another ST but I couldn’t afford the weekly drive. The one he has now is the only one in my area:( my son is getting tested for autism and adhd in February
