Are the posts in the ‘TTC’ and pregnancy groups representative?

I’m ttc and I’ve been reading a lot of posts in the TTC groups, and I’m really scared because chemical pregnancies and miscarriages seem like the norm. Is it useful to read these posts or am I just freaking myself out for no reason? I got my first positive test over the weekend and every time I use the bathroom I’m so scared that I’m going to see blood.

So one thing to keep in mind about places like this is people mostly post when things are going wrong and not as much when things are going right. Under literally every topic you'll see like 20 people complaints or problems or issues people are having Vs like 3 of them complimenting or talking about how wonderfully things are going for them. 
It's not really indicative of what's the norm pregnancy wise or such because again, people post here looking for advice for their issues mostly. Few post to brag and that.

You have a higher chance of not having a miscarriage/chemical, so don't stress. 
I personally don't post when things are going well because the post would read "things as great, I ate a bag of Cheetos today". Where as when something bad happens, people post for advice.

I mean they're normal humans TTC just like you and those are their experiences. The thing about pregnancy is there's so many variables that create a healthy pregnancy that will stick to the point it's out of your control. Worrying about it does nothing to help. If reading things on the internet makes your anxiety worse, then simply don't read it. You're pregnant and all you gotta do is take care of yourself right now.

1 in 4 women experience a miscarriage, and the first trimester can definitely be scary because if this. After you pass the 12 week mark the chances of a miscarriage drop drastically. So I understand being nervous until then.

A few things to note: 
1) Chemical pregnancies and miscarriages are common, roughly 1 in 4 women will experience pregnancy loss. I’m not going to lie and pretend they are less common than they are. It’s awful, but through forums like this if it does happen to you, you’ll have a place to go to talk and find support. That didn’t used to exist not too long ago and more women had to suffer in silence. 
2) Even with that rough 1 in 4 number (and remember that that is all women, regardless of preexisting conditions, age at conception etc.) you have a much greater chance of having a perfectly healthy pregnancy than of having a miscarriage. Try not to worry until there is something to worry about.
3) People tend to post more about things that are out of the ordinary. You’ll see 10 posts about something bad happening for every 1 post about everything going as it should (and that’s probably a generous ratio to be honest) because most women don’t see a point in posting “everything with my pregnancy is going well.” Instead, these forums can attract women looking for support when things are difficult. So, I would not say that this is a representational ratio of healthy/non healthy pregnancy posts.
