We don’t spank but we handle parenting by what our kids need at that time, in that moment. No. Not everything actually needs a name. It seems from your comments you know how everyone should parent so go ahead and educate us.

Gentle parenting doesn’t work for my kids and me, but I’m not abusive or neglectful. I also don’t give my children a million chances and I don’t let them make every single decision ever.

I'd need definitions for each of those to answer this.

I honestly don't know what to put to this 🤷‍♀️ I'm a psychologist and just kinda go by what makes the most sense to me from a psychological perspective. I breastfeed, baby wear, avoid shouting (but I'm not perfect) etc. But I'd also say I'm a little lazy 🤷‍♀️ I just can't deal with all these Instagram organic meals, perfect themed nurseries or sanitising everything that seems to come with the attachment style parenting/"crunchy parenting" I practice (also the judging. Ugh). My child is 2 and is allowed juice, chocolate and junk food as long as it's not an excessive amount.
Shes eating a lollipop right now while watching TV because I'm exhausted, overdue with baby #2 and I just flat out don't care today 🤷‍♀️

I know it's not listed but I'd say authoritative parenting (not the same as authoritarian). We have rules and expectations but I do really try to be sensitive to their feelings still and allow them to make their own choices.

I domt know what some of these terms are. We never spank. We try to pick our battles. But we absolutely do set boundaries and correct them if needed. eg if we are out somewhere and theyre acting up, they get a warning, then straight to the car, we dont just tolerate their behavior or just a "no no sweetie" without some sort of consequence.
