This started yesterday on my chunky 5.5 month olds face. No idea what it is

My 5mo has some patches like this on his face right now. I think it’s a combo of drool and heating season. I just try to blot his face dry with a soft cloth as often as I can and slather him up with a rich, unscented moisturizer a few times a day.
