Mucus plug

Okay I don’t really know where to start however I will try .

I just went to the bathroom and when I wiped it was really thick like .well. A clump of mucus (my discharge has been water the last three weeks so I know it’s not that) also I have been having diarrhea the last 4 ish days multiple times a day like my body’s flushing everything out. My doctor asked me if I have had contractions at all at my 37w app (I’m 37-6d now) and I said honestly I don’t know . Since yesterday I felt like I had a bad constant stomach ache low down but he said “only count it as a contraction if you can’t breathe during it” and to me that seemed weird .

Is my body just all out of whack or am I getting close to labor . (Last check I was 1cm dilated)
