Painful sex/bacterial vaginosis

Okay so about 2 weeks ago I finished treatment for bacterial vaginosis which is assumed why it hurt to have sex. A week after being finished my boyfriend and I tried again and it still hurt. It feels like there a ring of fire at the entrance. It continued to hurt to the touch for the rest of the day and i had to use dermoplast to numb the area. It especially hurt when i would pee bc when a drop would touch the area it felt like acid. I tried again today with a smaller toy and had the same pain although less intense and it doesn’t hurt to the touch. I believe bc it was smaller and i also stopped the second i felt pain unlike when we tried to have sex. Is it possible to need more than one treatment of metronidazole for bacterial vaginosis? Or could this pain be from something else. I haven’t been able to go to my gyno since it’s finals week so in the meantime I figured I would ask y’all (although I am still going back to the gyno). This all started after I wiped way too hard with a towel in the beginning of October which caused abrasions all over my vulva. After that we weren’t able to have sex bc it was painful, went to the gyno and he said it was just irritation and waiting a month should fix the issue, a couple weeks later he called saying I had BV. I would assume it would be gone now but idk. I’m 19 and just got into a relationship so it’s a little concerning. I’ve posted this on another health group also so I apologize if you see this twice
