Hello ladies, this is my rainbow pregnancy and I’m 24 weeks now. I’m wondering if any other mamas with sickle cell have been having increased pain episodes and what your doctors do to manage it? My hemoglobin is usually a 6.6 and because that’s been my baseline all my life and I’m not exactly symptomatic they won’t transfuse me. Tylenol does absolutely nothing for pain and I have a 5mg of oxy that does nothing either except make me sleepy. I have an extensive health care team but I just feel like no one is really here to help when I’m always in pain.

I’m just at a loss for who to ask, what to say, where to go or what to do when every visit to the ER or doctors office just ends up with me being sent back home still in the same pain I was in when I made it to the doctor.

It’s getting frustrating and truly ruining my whole experience 😪
