I am black and my husband is white. We are expecting our first baby and we are so excited about it, but I keep getting annoying comments that I’m not sure how to address. For example I’ve gotten countless comments about how people are excited to see what color our baby is. When we picked the name someone told me that my baby might not look like an Andre. I’ve been told that I should wait until my child is born and then pick a name that suits them. Is it just me, or are these comments annoying? I know that there is no harm meant by them, but I wish people would stop commenting about the fact that my child is biracial like it’s some i mystical thing. It’s annoying because I feel like my child is already talked about differently than their cousins were.
