Legal question

If I have my baby and decide I don’t want the child’s father to be there when I deliver…do I have to let him see the child within 24 hours? Or can I wait until he takes me to court? I don’t want to be committing any felonies, my fear is that he will take the baby from the hospital home to be with him when we don’t live together…

He might want to take my baby out of spite. Him and his mom are really spiteful people and since this is my first child, I have no idea how child custody works. Also the fact I don’t want to be with him, he doesn’t want to raise a baby on his own, but yet he messaged my dad and told him he is going to try taking full custody. I have good living condition for the child, we both live with our family. So one isn’t better than the other. He is mad because I don’t want to be with him and he’s trying to force me too. So I have cut off all contact with him in hopes he realizes this relationship isn’t something I want my child to be raised with. I don’t mind coparenting with him, however I also don’t need him holding the child back from me. I sound hypocritical but I just need a court order for him to follow because he has threatened to take the child but if he does I need to ensure he will return the child to me at designated time. That’s all.

And no we are not married. I wouldn’t ever marry this guy.

I am in the U.S sorry I failed to mention that but as much as I don’t want to be with this guy maybe I should try to make it work because all this sounds like so much extra stress and stuff I don’t need in my life. Like wow…I’m already a high risk pregnancy I don’t need to be worrying about this anymore.
