My birth story
November 27 and 28th I was very emotional. Cried all day for no reason. I was also suffering from nausea and having lots of bowel movements (not diarrhea though). November 29th around midnight I started throwing up. Chalked it up to acid reflux or pregnancy problems. Didn't sleep at all that night. I woke up at 530am to see my husband off to work, then took a shower. Got my other 3 kiddos up around 630am to get ready for school/daycare/my work. I did decide to work because I didn't want to sit at home after crying all weekend. My job also allows me to relax/chill/sit down if needed. And my coworkers are bomb. Threw up once while at work, so I called my OB and asked for some meds. She sent over meds to the pharmacy since my next appt wasn't until Dec. 2.
Around noon, I started having contractions. I started walking, doing pelvic movements and lunges during the contractions because they weren't super painful and I really wanted this to be legit and not the false labor I've been having. They were every 4 minutes. At 1:15p.m.I called my OB office and asked if I could come get checked there instead of the hospital because I hate sitting for hours at the hospital just to be sent home. I called because the contractions were getting more uncomfortable. My OB said come on in. She checks me. I'm not even at 2cm. I'm also high and not much thinned. She does a ultrasound (every appt with her) to look at baby. He was low and great. She sent me to her little room where she monitors contractions. The contractions were strong and painful. I still was terrified it was false labor. My OB ended up leaving for a hour or so to deliver 2 other babies. The whole time my contractions were so painful and every 2 minutes. She gets back to the office and asks if she can check me again before sending me home. I said sure, but I needed to use the restroom first. I could barely walk to the bathroom I was hurting so good. I passed my bloody show in the bathroom. She checks me again. I'm a 4. So in about 2.5hrs I went from not even a 2 to a 4. Yay! I'm in labor. She sends me to the hospital and says "see ya later!". I check into L&D around a little after 5. I get my epidural around 8 along with some pitocin to establish a good contraction pattern. At 10pm I'm still only a 4cm 😭 OB breaks my water. Me and nurse start doing peanut ball in the bed. At 11pm I'm a 5cm, on my way to 6. At 12:30am I'm at 9.5cm. And 95% thinned. And hes moving down with each contraction. My OB was at the hospital delivering another baby so once that mama was done, it was my turn. At 1:05am I said I was feeling pressure and sure enough he was ready! So my OB leaves the other girl with her nurse (sorry sis!) cause she wasn't progressing in her labor at that point. At 1:14am I start pushing. My epidural was wearing off a bit on one side so I could feel the pain/pressure really well, but not excruciating. Like bad period cramps. First contraction, I got him crowning. Second contraction, I got him out. Once his head was out I felt so much pressure I just kept pushing and he slipped right on out. At 1:18 am on November 30th, my 7lbs12oz Henry was born at 37w6d.
We are both doing good and hoping to he discharged this morning :)
