Do people deserve to change?

Recently the Grammy nominees were announced and Louie CK and Dave Chappel were both nominated.
There was a lot of backlash for especially Louie CK as he was cancelled a few years ago for exposing himself to women. Some comments on the articles talked about how he doesn’t deserve the nomination for what he did years ago and that people can’t change and don’t deserve a second chance. 
Other comments congratulated him and praised him for being able to continue on with a career despite being “cancelled” as he apologized and years have passed for him to be able to change his ways.
Do you think that we should give celebrities a chance to grow and change after certain accusations? Do some celebrities deserve a second chance while others don’t? Does it depend on what they were accused of? Or should any celebrity who has been accused of anything wrong  just vanish from the public eye forever?

The entertainment industry is full of scummy people who’ve done and said horrible things. If someone’s done something wrong there should always be consequences to their actions. That being said, I still like a good movie or tv show binge and I just don’t have the time to sort through who’s said and done what and who’s now nominated for this/that now, etc. and put that much energy into Hollywood’s elite.

Absolutely people deserve to change. What would be the point of life if people didn't have room to grow and evolve? 
I think the issue of handing out awards to celebrities who have caused a lot of hurt to others is a bit murkier though. 
But I wouldn't be surprised if the Grammy's did this to stir up controversy and increase ratings, particularly since Dave Chappelle is still a very controversial figure and isn't even pretending to be a changed man - he's completely unapologetic about his views.

Yes people deserve second chances.  
But, second chances doesn’t necessarily mean they deserve fame, awards, accolades, a stage, a voice louder than those they’ve victimized.  
I think in these cases, keeping the people they’ve abused feeling safe is most important and I think having the perpetrators given a stage like this does exactly the opposite.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to change, grow, repent of past misdeeds, and work towards becoming a better person. Whether or not they deserve major awards and recognition is another matter, but I sincerely hope anyone saying people shouldn't be allowed to change or have second chances never do anything that slams the door of society in their face with no hope whatsoever of forgiveness, grace, and reconciliation no matter what they do. Actually, what I really hope is that people look back on their own lives and think about how many times they have been forgiven, how many times they have been shown grace, and how many chances they have been given to try again and then consider passing that on to someone else who needs the same. A graceless, merciless society is a hard, horrible, miserable place to live.

Everyone is deserving of a chance to change. Doesn’t mean u have to like them. But we have got to stop serving people life sentences of “being cancelled” it’s extremely toxic

Yes! People deserve a chance to take responsibility, work on understanding why their actions weren't accepted by society, and then … if they have new understanding, remorse, and make every attempt to atone, society should give a person a chance. 
THAT said, there's a huge gulf of difference between someone who spouts out a harmful opinion for entertainment, someone who swings unsolicited dick, and someone that privately tortures and rapes people.

I think it depends on what they were accused of doing. It’s also not my decision to say they’re forgiven either , it’s whoever was wronged by them opinion to forgive them or not.

Yes, I think everyone deserves a second chance, but not after everything. I think some things are unforgivable, namely anything involving the abuse of children, rape, sexual assault, and of course murder. 
So I’m fine with Dave Chappell. He’s a comedian. He’s meant to be crude and offensive at times. 
Not so much fine with Louie CK. Any kind of sexual assault gets you “cancelled” in my book indefinitely.

The nomination is based off of his career being a comedian, not his personal life/character. I do think he's a gross individual for Exposing himself and I would never want to be in the same room as him buuuut I have heard him on several interviews and he's pretty funny🤷🏽‍♀️ So, as a comedian sure he deserves that nomination, if it was a nomination for citizen of the year he can go kick rocks lol
