Palpitations just before period?

This has been happening for about 6 months now - im pretty sure it's linked as they stop as soon as my period starts?

​Some of them take my breath away they are pretty scary! Does this happen to anyone else?

Answer

This happens to me but it's not related to my period. It can be a sign of mitral valve prolapse or other diseases, as heart disease runs in my family. I'm currently seeing specialists about it. I did a little research and Mayo Clinic and WebMD both say that palpitations before and at the onset of menstruation can simply be due to hormonal changes. Either way, it's best to talk to your doctor about this, as heart disease is nothing to be careless about! Good luck! Xx
