When to go to the hospital for 2nd baby

So I guess I’m just going to ask the stupid question of when should I go to the hospital for labor with our 2nd child?

I am 37 weeks +1 day with our 2nd child (our 1st born is 9). I’ve been having contractions from 7:30am to now off and on all day. They are not consistent what-so-ever but they vary from 2 minutes to 8 minutes for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. They stop for about a half hour or so then start again. Some I have to breathe through. I’m not bleeding at all but I feel like my vag is kind of “swollen”.

I’m just unsure of if I should call the midwives or wait it out.
