Obstructive sleep apnea

Hey friends! My 2 year old has never slept through the night. She wakes up 4-6 times a night and she snores so loud we can hear her across the house. One night a month or so ago I was holding her while she was sleeping and noticed she just stopped breathing in her sleep. So I made an appointment with her pediatrician.

She said her tonsils were swollen and her nasal passage was narrow it looked like her adenoids were swollen also. We did nose spray and allergy medicine is month. She had a follow up appointment yesterday. No changes everything was still swollen. I had a video of her snoring for the dr. She is setting up a sleep study at a bigger hospital about an hour away. She said it usually takes a month or so to get in. The dr said it was obstructive apnea and the swollen tonsils and adenoids were blocking her airway when she sleeps. They have to get the sleep study before they can schedule surgery to take the tonsils and adenoids out. Hopefully we can get in quickly for the sleep study and get everything taken care of so my baby can get some sleep! She’ll probably be a whole new person after a full nights sleep.
