I had the first round done.. And then decided not to, I just always got really emotional about it. So never went back for the 2nd test. I just thought that this baby would be loved either way and that God doesn't give you something you can't handle.

I'm pregnant with my 4th and have never gotten that test. I feel like it's a stressor either way. Which isn't good for the baby. There nothing you can do to change the outcome, no point in stressing:)

I have a family history of Down's syndrome, so they suggested I do the nuchal scan. It also checks for trisomy 18 and neural tube defects.

in Egypt you're required to sign a termination agreement before you get the test done if its positive they terminate immediately so most people don't get it done here

No. I did my research on the test mybdoc offered and its known for high inaccurate results, so didn't see the point.

It's not offered for multiples so we did the Nuchal translucency

I have a brother with ds. I did the workup with my first son. Then I realized it didn't matter. Unless you're gonna abort based on the diagnosis then it means nothing. And honestly, the whole I wanna know so I'm ready for it thing really doesn't matter. The hospital will do what needs to be done and help you where it's needed if the baby is born with ds.
