Attached?

Why do I do this it’s super annoying I’ve been with my boyfriend for a year already and everytime we text I always leave my phone down for two minutes and then check if he replies. It’s driving me crazy it doesn’t matter if I’m at work if I’m busy and can’t use my phone I will still find a way to use it just to check if he’s texted me back. Even the times when we’ve broken up I’ve blocked and unblocked him or I’ve gone back every 5 minutes to see if he texted me. Even when we’re good I’ll go to say Facebook scroll for a minute or two then go to my messages and see if he texted me. It legit drives me crazy idk what to do is this called a habit or is it something else and how can I fix this because he can go hours without texting me but I always have to text him asap or keep checking if he texted back. And it’s not that he forces me to I do that on my own I don’t know why.
