HELP W/ PACIFIER!!

Ok so, who has tricks to take away the PACIFIER ( FOR GOOD)? My baby"loves" his! Like what can I do to make my 1 year old not want the pacifier anymore? I heard cutting it, but I don't know exactly what to do..
