Is it "selfish" I don’t want to use the name my MIL wants to name baby?

I was at my MIL house last night, she asked what I was naming my her. I gave her the name I really liked and she told me she didn’t like it. I’m really shy so I didn’t say anything. Then she proceeded to tell me the names she likes and asked what middle name was I giving her & I told her. She said "shouldn’t you want to use both you and Brandon’s initials for her name?" And I’m selfish for wanting to use only my initials and no matter what I name her she’s going to call her the name she chose. This just my first baby and I really want to use a name we actually like, he loved the name; he named her.

I was telling him after we left I think I’m going to still stick with the name, but I don’t want his mom upset. Anyone ever been in a similar situation??
