Are you supposed to tip a massage therapist?

Hi so I'm going to get my first massage tomorrow and I'm wondering if you're supposed to tip the massage person when you pay? I don't want to be rude or anything lol

I always do, they are performing a service on you just like a hairstylist or manicurist would

Yes. Unless they say otherwise. I've always tipped by the hour for a basic massage for for 1 hour I usually do a $20. If they add something special to it I'll increase it by $5 or $10 depending on it was, and if it's a longer massage say 2 hours I'll double that hour tip.

I don’t know about “suppose to”, but I always do. I have an amazing massage therapist and she doesn’t skimp the whole massage so I say she’s more than earned it!

In my area, you pay for service not tip for service. But not all the world is same. 🤷‍♀️
