Too young
I’ll try to make this short without a lot of every detail
Partner’s mom invited themselves over to our place for this upcoming Christmas eve without even asking if that’s okay. He also started a new job.
Partner finds out he has to work so he lets his mom know he works Christmas eve. His mom still insists on coming over but his mom has made me uncomfortable so I won’t hang out with her alone unless he’s there. She didn’t even ask me if I’m fine with it. He tells her he has Christmas Day off, but they don’t want to do that.
Toddler has been throwing toys at his sister who is almost four months.
His parents demanded he opens up one present Christmas eve or they won’t come spend time with him. I told my partner it depends on how he acts.
Please keep in mind I said DEPENDS. I feel very conflicted about it.
His grandparents are in their forties so they’re not fragile.
Him opening presents are just to satisfy them. It’s not even about him or his happiness which is why I don’t feel bad for saying it depends on how he acts.
Why is a toddler seen as too young to learn consequences? I think him throwing toys at his sister fits cause why give him another toy to throw.
Also if you have helpful advice on disciplining a toddler that’d be great.
