nexplanon removal
just wondering if anybody has ever had this problem before. this might be a stupid question but if you’re on birth control and don’t have any periods, will you bleed extra when you get off the birth control like your body is trying to “catch up” from not having a period? context: i got the nexplanon implant december 2019, and got it removed july 2021. i very rarely would have a “period” during that time. it was never enough to need anything more than a pantyliner. at the end of october 2021 (it’s now mid-december 2021) i started bleeding very heavily with a lot of blood clots. i was using pads for a while so every time i went to the bathroom clots would come out. it was so bad at one point i had to go every 15 minutes just to let out the clots. i saw my doctor and i was given birth control pills to help regulate it. fast forward to a few days ago, i went back to the doctor to go over bloodwork and to check up on the bleeding. i had stopped bleeding and i was offered more birth control pills but i said i was TTC. everything seemed fine at the appointment, doctor didn’t say anything was wrong but did tell me to call if i’m having trouble again. now i’m bleeding the same again. so, long story short, is it possible that my body is just releasing everything that it held back during that one and a half year timeframe where i didn’t have a period? has anybody had anything similar happen after getting the nexplanon implant removed? could it be some sort of condition? i have another appointment set up but the earliest i could get in is a week and a half away. sorry this is such a long post. thank you for reading!
