Not talking?

Question

Anyone else's kiddo not talking yet? The pediatrician seems completely unconcerned, but I can't help but worry. The only thing she says consistently is daddy. Everything else kinda comes and goes. Right now she says thank you ("da doo"), this, peekaboo ("bee boo"), and grandpa ("bee-pa"). She clearly understands most of what we say, and she can follow directions  and she mimicks us a lot. Anyone have a similar experience?

My first was like this but he understood everything. I also started making him ask for things to his best ability if I knew he wanted something instead of just giving it to him. By the time he was 2 1/2- 3 he was all caught up. He's 7 now and doesn't stop talking. But if you are concerned it wouldn't hurt to ask for a referral to a speech evaluation.

We are starting speech therapy. My son was noted to have a delay. I’ve been trying everything I can think of. He also had a ton of ear infections and had to have tubes placed. The past few weeks he seems open to trying to mimic words more and is picking up vocabulary so I’m hoping speech therapy will get him right on track. He does sign mealtime words and understands nearly everything.

My son isn't really talking. He understands a lot and does a fee sign language words. He starts early intervention next week for speech therapy.
